The global licence (LIGLO)

A global licence authorises the export of one or more types of goods to one or more destinations, with no limit as to quantity or value.

A global licence authorises the export of one or more types of goods to one or more destinations, with no limit as to quantity or value.

It corresponds to known, recurring flows that have been well-identified by the SBDU. One or more individual licence applications corresponding to these flows to known recipients or end-users must therefore have been previously approved.

The licence simplifies export procedures. In return, the exporter sets up an internal compliance system guaranteeing secure control of its exports, which it describes to the administration upon request. The exporter monitors its exports very closely and provides a summary statement of exports every six months (known as "reporting").

The application procedures are described on the page "Documents to be provided and procedures by type of authorisation" (French only).

Processing times for global license applications are generally longer than that for individual licenses, given the scope they cover (goods, recipients and countries). The investigation process for global licenses is the same as for individual licenses.
